Your students always know what to practice.

Melopal puts the sheet music, instructions and recordings from your one-to-one lessons in one clean place, before your student has even packed up their instrument. Less clutter. More practice.

The weekly chaos

“What was Emma supposed to practice?”

Text from a parent, Wednesday, 19:42.

The piece is somewhere. Maybe in an email. Maybe in WhatsApp. Maybe in that Dropbox folder from three years ago. You know you sent it, but nobody can find it, so you take another photo and send it again.

Every one-to-one music teacher knows this routine. Not because teachers are disorganized, but because the tools they use were never built for teaching an instrument.

Sorry to bother you! Which piece was Emma doing again? 🙈

How Melopal works

From your library to your students music stand in three steps.

No setup marathon. Start next week's lesson where this week's ended. Send your first assignment before your next lesson.

1

Build your library once. Use it every lesson.

Bring the music you already use. Scan with your phone, upload PDFs, or import your entire forScore library in one go.

  • Scan with the camera in the iOS & Android apps (Android app in the making)
  • Upload PDFs from anywhere - drag in the whole folder
  • Import forScore files and keep your organisation
  • Find anything by title, composer or tags

Using another music app? Export the PDF and drop it here.

2

Assign in the last minute of the lesson.

Pick the student, write what to practice, attach the piece. Add a YouTube or Spotify reference, or record a 20-second voice note while the lesson is still fresh. Your student can pack up while you do it.

  • Assign to one student or a whole group at once
  • Voice notes up to 5 minutes - faster than typing
  • YouTube, Spotify and SoundCloud links attached to the task
  • Share your annotated copy or the clean original

Your student opens one place. Not seven.

Students join by scanning a QR code in the lesson - the youngest don’t even need an email address. From then on, every assignment lands in their Melopal: the music, your notes, the recordings. Parents can stop doing archaeology in the chat history.

  • QR or link invite - joining takes seconds
  • Works on phone, tablet and computer
  • Status moves New → In progress → Completed
  • You always see what’s active for every student

What changes

By week two, lessons start on the music - not on logistics.

0

Lost sheet music

If it’s assigned, it’s on their device. “I forgot the music at home” quietly retires.

To send an assignment

Less admin than the WhatsApp message you’re typing today - and it doesn’t scroll away.

1

Place students look

Music, instructions, voice notes and references stay connected to each other.

The practice loop

A week in the life of one assignment.

The music is right there, your note next to it, the recording one tap away. No “mum, where’s the file?”

For iPad teachers

Your iPad is brilliant on a music stand. Give your students the same experience.

You’ve spent years organising a beautiful forScore library for your music stand. Melopal lets you turn any piece into an assignment in seconds, delivered to students with your instructions attached.

  • Import forScore files directly. Your scores and setlists come across - no exporting one PDF at a time.
  • Scan paper in seconds. Method book page, exam piece, your own exercise - straight into the library.
  • Annotations, your call. Send your marked-up copy or the clean original, per assignment.

For your students

Students don’t get another homework app. They get a music stand in their pocket.

No distractions, no clutter, no noise - just this week’s music, and your instructions to go with it.

  • One clear list of what to practice right now
  • Your instructions attached to the piece - not in a separate chat
  • Reference recordings one tap away
  • Joins with a QR code · parents welcome to look over the shoulder

Fair questions

You’re skeptical. Good - you’re a teacher.

Why not just keep using WhatsApp, email and Drive?

Because it's cluttered and messy. A chat scrolls away, a folder grows crowded, and nothing connects them. Melopal keeps the piece, the instructions and the references together for each student. That is the missing connection.

Will my students really open another app?

They open the app where their music lives - that’s a different thing than “another app.” Joining is a QR scan in your lesson, no email needed for young students, and afterwards it’s the only place they have to remember.

Is this more admin for me?

An assignment takes about 30 seconds - pick student, two lines, attach. That usually replaces an email, a chat message, and the “what was it again?” follow-ups. You send it once. Your student always knows where to find it.
